When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless.  I will confirm my covenant between me and you will greatly increase your numbers...You will be the father of many nations.  No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.  I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you."  (Gen. 17:1, 2, 4-6)

He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets.  (Deut. 4:13)

Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession...(Exod. 19:5)

If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Gal. 3:29)

The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in his ways.  The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity...The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.    You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.  The Lord will make you the head and not the tail.  If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you today and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.  (Deut. 28:9, 11-13)

Carefully follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do...And when you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, then the Lord your God will restore you fortunes and have compassion on you...He will make you more prosperous and numerous than your fathers.  (Deut. 29:9, 30:2-3, 5)

My son do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. (Prov. 3:1, 2)

Walk in all the ways that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.  (Deut. 5:32)

However, there should be no poor among you, for in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you, if only you fully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all these commands I am giving you today.  (Deut. 15:4, 5)

If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment.  (Job 36:11)

I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.  (Ps 37, 25)

In everything that he undertook in the service of God's temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly.  And so he prospered. (2 Chron. 31:21)

If you are willing to be obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.  For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.  (Is. 1:19, 20)

Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the Lord gave Moses for Israel.  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or discouraged.  (1 Chron. 22:13)

However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you...The Lord will send on your curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him.  The Lord will plague you with diseases until he has destroyed you from the land you are entering to possess...The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies...You will be unsuccessful in everything you do; day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you...A people that you do not know will eat what your land and labor produce, and you will have nothing but cruel oppression all your days...The alien who lives among you will rise above you higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower.  He will lend to you, but you will not lend to him.  He will be the head, but you will be the tail.  All these curses will come upon you.  They will pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the Lord your God and observe the commands and decrees he gave you.  They will be a sign and a wonder to you and your descendants forever.  Because you did not service the Lord your God joyfully and gladly in the time of prosperity.  (Deut. 28: 15, 20, 21, 25, 29, 33, 43-47)

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law...in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit...Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed.  So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.  Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.
(Gal. 3:13, 14, 23-25)

Do no think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.  (Matt. 5:17)

The new agreement which he passes on to us from God contains far more wonderful promises.  (Heb. 8:6 TLB)
