This is the message you heard from the beginning:  We should love one another.  (1 John 3:11)

And he has given us this command:  Whoever loves God must also love his brother.  (1 John 4:21)

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"  Jesus replied:  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."  This is the first and the greatest commandment.  And the second is like it:  "Love your neighbor as yourself."  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.  (Matt. 2:36-40)

Therefore love is fulfillment of the law.  (Rom. 13:10)

And this is love:  that we walk in obedience to his commands.  As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.  (2 John 6)

Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps not record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  (1 Cor. 13:4-7)

He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.  (Prov. 21:21)

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.  Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  (1 John 4:7, 8)

Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.  (1 John 2:10)

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting anything back.  Then reward will be great, and you will be sons of the most High...(Luke 6:35)

There is no fear in love.  But perfect love drives out fear...(1 John 4:18)

This is how we know what love is:  Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.  And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.  If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?  Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.  (1 John 3:16-18)

The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.  (Gal. 5:6)

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophesy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.  (1 Cor. 13:1-3)

And now these three remain:  faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.  (1 Cor. 13:13)

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around our neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.  Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.  (Prov. 3:3, 4)
